TIME ATTACK - AWD SHOOT OUT QLD RACEWAY – JULY 26 – PM SESSION
We have an all new event that is launching this year, the AWD Shoot out. We have some great sponsors behind this event and look forward to it becoming an inaugural event. There will be a special limited edition event shirt given to the drivers. There are three classes, Street Class is for everyone. We would love to see all the once a year track guys out to have some fun in this class as well as the regular street car drivers who like to keep their cars stock. The rules have been structured to keep this class on a level playing field. The Performance Class is for the modified racers, guys who have taken their street cars further for track events and the final class is Race Class which is for the outright race cars. On the track all our usual safety rules will apply, limited number of cars on the track and only overtaking on the main straights. This is a Time Attack event and results will be based on your lap times. Put together the best combined Sprint and Clubman laps and you will be class victor !! THE CARS Nissan GTR Subaru WRX Mitsubishi EVO Any AWD car manufactured by a major manufacture is also welcome. The car and driver are entered. If one car has two drivers, each driver must enter separately. THE COMPETITION There will be sessions run on the Sprint Track and the Clubman Track. The driver with the lowest summed best lap time (best Sprint Time + best Clubman Time) will be the class winner. There will be a presentation for First, Second and Third in each class. Street Class The Tyres must be DOT and ADR approved. All OEM Tyres (This includes the factory RE070 supplied by Subaru for the STI’s) The tyre tread wear rating must be 140 or above. The exhaust must be rear exiting with no screamer pipes. The car must be road registered. Must have OEM glass. Must have OEM doors. Must have OEM full dash. Must have all seats in the vehicle. (aftermarket seats allowed) Must have full interior in the car. Not allowed to be stripped out. Must not have in cabin adjustable brake bias or pedal box. Must have engine as fitted by the manufacture (no engine conversions). Stock R35 GTR will run in performance class.
Performance Class The Tyres must have a tread wear rating of 70 or above. This excludes all slicks with two grooves such as Hoosier, Kumho V710 etc. The exhaust must be rear exiting with screamer pipes allowed. The car must be road registerable (streetable car that could be registered). Must have OEM glass. Must have OEM doors. Must have both front seats (aftermarket seats allowed) Must have dash in place. Aftermarket instruments allowed. Must have basic interior in the front half of the cabin (removal of carpet, stereo etc and liner allowed) Must not have in cabin adjustable brake bias or pedal box. Race Class This is the almost no restrictions class. Outright race. No NOS.
General Rules All cars must be safe as per the standard Time Attack conditions. CLASS DECISION The final classification of all cars will be at the discretion of the check in Mechanics. No discussion will be entered. If you are unsure of something, check in advance. EVENT DETAILS Arrive 12:00pm. Sprint Track / Clubman Track. On track 1pm till 5pm COST Pay in Advance $140, Pay on Day $160
