Time Attack 2016 - Round 1 QR Feb 11

Posted on 6 February, 2016

QLD LAW GROUP - QUEENSLAND RACEWAY - 2016 ROUND 1

THURSDAY FEB 11 – BOOK NOW. PAYMENT DUE

The first event of the year is less than a week away. I have 5 places available in the morning session and a few in the afternoon session. If you want to join us please get booked in and paid up ASAP.

Sponsor Booking Deal Update

If one of our sponsors nominate you as their customer you will receive a $30 discount off a FULL DAY booking at they track(s) they sponsor. Check the full sponsor list at the bottom of this email for QLD Raceway. This discount is on top of the already discounted members pricing for the FULL DAY. It is as simple as them sending me a text or email or giving me a call.

How It Works

For anyone who has not done one of our events before, I thought I'd give a quick run down on how we operate.

Event Running List

Two nights before the event I publish the running list onto the website. www.timeattack.com.au Check it out and make sure I have your booking correct and that you are in the right group. It is much easier for me to fix before the event than on the day.

Pit Bays

All pit bays are pre allocated. When you arrive do not enter the pits without being checked in first. If you want to park with your mates let me know. Its no problem. If you park in the wrong pit you will be asked to move.

Drivers Briefing

Every driver must attend every driver briefing. No matter if you have done one track day or one hundred. You will get your wrist band signed. It must be signed to get on the track.

Event Shirts

Thanks to our fantastic sponsors we can free issue every driver with an event shirt. Obviously there are limited numbers so the guys at the first events get the best choice. If you have already pre-ordered your shirt I will have it in a bag for you. Don't grab another from the box.

Car Classes

Please check the rules on the website for 2016. The classes are there. We will check every car on the day in the pits to classify. If you think there is a mistake speak up early as its easier to fix on the day. The rules stand as written, I cannot make exceptions for your circumstance. Every year we vote on rule changes. So the rules are what the majority want.

On Track Groups

On track all cars are sorted by lap time. This makes for the cleanest possible lap for everyone. You can park with your mates in the pits, but on track its by lap times only. If you find your slower or faster on the day, let me know as I will see if you can be moved. Each group has a maximum of only 10 cars. This allows for the cleanest lap by reducing traffic. If you are new, then let me know and I will put you in the slow group, and with the low traffic you will have the best day.

Membership - Booking

Please read the conditions of booking. Membership allows you to cancel events at the last minute, get cheaper track days and collect points. If you are not a member, please don't contact me after an event wanting members privileges. That is unfair on the guys who have paid and have supported the event. I like to operate as per the written rules.

The People

When you come to a few Time Attack events you will find a variety of cars from dead serious to daily drivers. There is a class for everyone. You will also find the nicest people in the QLD Sprint scene. You can pretty much go and talk to anyone in the pits and they will be friendly and help you out if they can. There is a wealth of experience without the race ego you sometimes find. I love running the events and hanging out with these guys during the year.

I hope to see you there !!

Time Attack - Maximum Attack - QR Nov 8

Posted on 8 September, 2014

Hey Guys,

I’m excited to launch a new event this year, Time Attack – Maximum Attack which will be held at QLD RACEWAY on Saturday November 8.

It’s a full day event with Trophies and the popular $1000 top ten shoot out at the end of the day. The classes and the rules are listed on the web site under the Event Info menu option. The rules are similar to how we run a single day event, with four classes:

  • A. Street Class
  • B. N/A Performance Class
  • C. Forced Induction Performance Class
  • D. Maximum Attack Class

The event is jointly run with QLD Raceway, the same as we run the Jap Nats.

Event Cost is only $295 for the full day. The catch is I need payment for this event ASAP, preferably by the end of the month so I can lock it in with QLD Raceway and show them an event like this is viable!!! If you keen to race and get this off the ground please book in now!

Merchandise will be available in the form of an event shirt and sticker. I need all pre-ordered and paid by the end of this month to get the order finalised. The survey I sent out was 50%/50% polo shirt or long sleeve, so I’m not sure which way we will go yet. Don’t forget to email me your shirt size!!

Shirts $20
Stickers $5

Sponsorship of the event is only $100 and $150 if you want to get your logo on the event shirt. All existing Series Sponsors are automatically sponsors of this event and only need to add $50 to get onto the shirt. I will need all sponsorship finalised in the next two weeks as the timeline for the first event is pretty tight. I am hoping all sponsors head out and setup a stall on the day for drivers and spectators to see their products.

Please get onto the website and check out all the details:

www.timeattackmaximumattack.com

All Results for Scott's Rods QR Time Attack Series - Round 4 have been updated, with only one round remaining, and the removal of the worst round, the final battle for trophies is upon us.

The Hall of Fame has also been updated. This is the latest list of every car that has put down a lap in the 10 years of this event. There are a 1018 separate entries for the Clubman track alone. The Morning Session is now booked out with a waiting list. I need everyone to pay this week as I will release unsecured places to the waiting list on Monday. The PM session has plenty of room still. If you want to join us, please get booked in now !!

2014 JAPAN TRIP

The Japan trip is taking a lot longer to sort out than I originally thought, the devil is in the details as they say. Unfortunately the Fuji Drive experience has become impossible to arrange for this trip. We need at least 10 people to make the trip feasible. The cost is looking like $4500 plus insurance which I am still to sort out. If you are 100% coming on the trip if I can get the final details sorted please let me know by Friday, as I have to see if it is worth pushing on. The other option is to make the trip a 2015 plan and have the year to get all these details ironed out. Please let me know. Thanks.

AWD CONTROLLER PROJECT

The custom AWD Controller I built for Mark Berry’s 2012 Time Attack R34 GTR has now found a new home in the Croydon Racing Developments R34 GTR. They performed the install last week and had the first test day on Sunday. The driver said he has never had so much traction. The next step is to fine tune the controller for his car, as we are testing using Mark’s settings from WTAC. It’s good to have the controller back racing again. Croydon now have some future projects in the pipeline I will probably be helping with. I will keep you posted.

Here is a link to some in car footage.

It’s now the mid-winter rounds that everyone talks about, temperatures are down and horse power is up.

TIME ATTACK end of Year Event

I’m thinking of running a Saturday Nov 8 full day event with trophies and prize money. Like a big version of the Jap Nats. Full day of circuit and the Shoot Out at the end. Let me know if you like the idea and if you have an idea for a name for the event. I was thinking “Time Attack Shoot Out”.

I have updated all the points and Hall of Fame data and Holy Grail info for the website. It should all be updated shortly.

DRAFT ITINERARY

I have been working hard with my contact in Japan to come up with an itinerary that mixes Performance Cars, the Tokyo car scene, workshop tours and the feature Super GT race at Fuji International Speedway. Along with days to explore the vast culture available in Japan.

The final schedule is being put together this week along with prices and will be available soon. I wanted to get this email out so anyone considering the trip could see the dates and the great Itinerary planned and get their passports, days off and budgets in order. I am expecting this trip to be under $5K including flights, accommodation, private charter bus between venues and all entry fees. Once finalised I will need numbers locked in by the end of this month to secure bookings. If you have any friends you think may want to join us please pass on the details. There will be a capped number of final participants.

Having a local join us in Japan will make the experience unique and give us access to workshops and events that would be difficult if not impossible to arrange otherwise.
